I prefer science fiction, fantasy, and horror without the spaceships, dragons, and zombies.

The Blue Blazes

The Blue Blazes - Chuck Wendig This book is filled with larger-than-life characters, over-the-top action, and massive ‘Hollywood’ set pieces. It’s like reading a comic book in novel format (and sometimes like reading a cartoon). Mookie Pearl is a great character. I pictured an old, grisly Lawrence Tierney crossed with the Incredible Hulk. And it’s rare to see a book cover that so perfectly matches the material inside the book. Man, that cover is so good. I've read several books by Mr. Wendig, and this is by far his best effort.
