I prefer science fiction, fantasy, and horror without the spaceships, dragons, and zombies.

The Invention of Morel (New York Review Books Classics)

The Invention of Morel - Adolfo Bioy Casares, Suzanne Jill Levine, Jorge Luis Borges, Ruth L.C. Simms, Norah Borges de Torre It's hard for me to rate a book in translation. I always feel that anything I might view as a shortcoming is the fault of the translator (fair or not). With that being said, I liked the second half of this little book much more than the first half. There was too much repetition throughout, which was most certainly intentional, considering the material. But still, too much. I also found its journalist style a bit tiresome. Once it finally got into "what was really going on," it became much more interesting.
