John Dies at the End

John Dies at the End - David Wong Rumor has it that David Wong was conceived during the making of David Cronenberg's film adaptation of Naked Lunch. Allegedly, William S. Burroughs impregnated Cronenberg with mugwump juice and nine months later Wong was shat out into a public toilet and abandoned. Wong's first novel, although structurally flawed, overlong, and sometimes tedious, is quite ambitious. It is also wonderfully ridiculous, shamelessly scatological, fantastically repulsive, tirelessly inventive, hopelessly juvenile, and very often very, very funny.
